SUP

SUP stands for Stand Up Paddle, and in short is a large, high-volume surfboard. Unlike a normal surfboard, you stand up on a SUP board and use a paddle to paddle forwards. There are several different styles such as race, fitness and decidedly surf SUPs.

It can be a bit of a jungle for new ones to find around in SUP equipment. Below we have created a little overview of what you can look for to get home with the SUP equipment that will give you the most enchanting hours on the water!

SUP Boards are available in two types - Inflatable SUPs and Classic Hard SUPs ("Hard SUP"). The inflatable sup is easy to carry around, but is a little less stable. The classic hard SUP is made of an epoxy and foam material just like surfboards that make them stiff and thus stable. However, they are difficult to transport around and can get bumps and bumps. There are different styles, so it is important to make it clear what you want to use your SUP board for. There are Race SUPs, which are suitable for more flat water and higher speeds; touring SUPs which are good for longer trips in different waters; Wave / Surf SUPs, designed to surf waves; All-round SUPs, which are a bit of a mix of the above - often wide and stable. SUP Paddles consists of the shaft and blade itself. The SUP paddle shaft is made of either aluminum, carbon or a mixture. The aluminum SUP paddle is very stiff and durable but is heavier. The carbon paddle is available in various stiffnesses but is generally flexible and lightweight. Because the carbon shaft is flexible, you utilize the elastic potential for more economical energy consumption when paddling. The width of the blade itself also affects how you progress.
