Penny Australia

Even from a very young age Penny Australia’s founder Ben Mackay was inspired and influenced by skateboarding. This love for skating all started with his father one day giving the 5 years old Ben Mackay his very own and first plastic skateboard. Shortly after trying it he’d use their garage to make a kicker ramp. He also painted the skateboard blue with gold pinstripes, young Mackay was instantly hooked. Spending hours and hours just studying the skateboard, thinking that this was the sickest thing ever.

After conquering the garage, Ben Mackay went straight to bombing the hills, and though it was scary and exhilarating, so too was it like a bliss for him.
Nearly 30 years later the founder Ben Mackay realized what he needed to do. He knew it was time to bring back those little plastic skateboards.

And so, began the chapter of Penny Skateboards.
Channeling everything, he had learned from his 12 years of experience in the field of skateboard manufacturing, Ben Mackay had a high appreciation for what was needed to make high quality skateboards. With all this experience and knowledge, Penny Australia came up with how to improve upon the fundamentals of the old plastic skateboards. Ensuring a high performance, a long-lasting durability and a very fun plastic skateboard.

Each and every Penny skateboard is constructed with the absolute best quality raw materials and that crazy fanatical attention as well as love to detail. The designing focuses on looking creative, fun and super good. While still maintaining that high performance and exceeding your expectations. When all this comes together, the making, the designing and the final touches you can see the high quality, you can feel it under your feet and in your hands. All this is what puts Penny skateboards above the rest and ensures that the good times continues to roll.

“Penny Skateboards, since forever.”
