Renew your scooter or make your new scooter unique with a nice design scooter handle from NKDscooter.
The NKD Shadow handle is made of soft but durable rubber, including a unique bar end.
The NKD shadow handle provides a soft and comfortable grip as it is designed with many grooves in the soft rubber. The shadow handles give you a good grip and increased safety when performing your tricks. The length of the shadow handles is 160 mm and fits all trick scooters. In the package, there are two handles and two end plugs, so they are ready to use right away.
Tips on handles:
- Handles are a wear part and should be changed regularly.
- Some models are made of very soft material and need to be changed earlier than others. NKD Shadow is soft material for more comfort, where NKD Diamond (see more here) is medium hard.
- You can cut the handles to length with scissors or use the scissors to remove the old ones.
- Barends, the pieces that sit at the end do not necessarily fit aluminium bars, due to thickness, however, you can cut a slot / crack in your barend and force it on. It is recommended to ride with barends, as it extends the life of the bar, but is not a necessity.
Tips for fitting handles:
- Spray some liquid under the handles and a little on the bar (Dish soap, hairspray or WD40) Let it dry!
- Twist the handle from side to side and pull it off. Handles are possible to reuse, but otherwise cut it off with scissors.
- Do you have an air compressor? Use it to create a layer of air around the handle, it will slide on immediately.
- Fitting handles is easy with a little window cleaner.

Scooter Grips Size Guide
Grips are an important part of your scooter and play a major role in comfort, control, and grip. Whether you ride in the skatepark, on the street, or simply use your scooter for everyday transportation, a new set of grips can breathe new life into your setup and significantly improve your riding experience.
Grips are available in different lengths, thicknesses, and materials. When choosing new grips, it is especially important to pay attention to compatibility with your handlebar, as well as the length and feel you prefer.
What Should You Pay Attention To?
- Inner Diameter – Determines whether the grip fits your handlebar.
- Length – Affects how much space you have for your hands and how the grip feels while riding.
- Outer Diameter – Determines how thick the grip feels in your hand.
Most scooter grips use either a 22 mm or 24 mm inner diameter. Therefore, we always recommend checking the product specifications before making a purchase.
Will the Grips Fit My Scooter?
That depends on the grip's inner diameter and your handlebar. Many modern grips are compatible with a wide range of stunt scooters, but different models come in different sizes. Therefore, it is always a good idea to check the specifications of both the grips and the handlebar to ensure a proper fit.
How to Choose the Right Length
Shorter grips can provide a more compact feel, while longer grips offer extra room for your hands and are often perceived as more comfortable. The choice mainly comes down to personal preference and riding style.
Good to Know
- The inner diameter is the most important measurement when ensuring compatibility.
- Length affects comfort and hand placement but does not determine whether the grip fits the handlebar.
- Softer grips typically provide better comfort and shock absorption.
- Grips are a wear-and-tear item and should be replaced when they become smooth, hard, or start to crack.
A new set of grips is one of the easiest and most noticeable upgrades you can make to your scooter. Not only does it improve comfort, but it also provides better control and gives your setup a fresh new look.
